Web 2.0 Technologies
Currently I am in Entebbe Uganda attending a Web 2.0 Workshop. The workshop started today and is progressing on well. We have participants from different parts of Eastern and Southern Africa. So far the presentations are very punchy and informative. We are learnt quite a bit on web 2.0 tools and how they relate to e-content development. My only fear is the applicability of the knowlege and skills we are gaining considering the personal and institutions limitations that we face in our places of work. But otherwise the course is quite relevant and timely and more people need to be trained.

Agricultural Information and Communication students. The broad aim of the course is to strengthen capacity in key aspects of agricultural knowledge management so as to realize effective creation, storage, updating, retrieval, dissemination, sharing and utilization of knowledge for sustainable agricultural development. It is expected that the course will help learners appreciate agricultural knowledge as a resource in the now apparent global knowledge economy that calls for a competitive agricultural sector.
Mode of Delivery
The course will be delivered in an interactive manner. The role of your lecturer will mainly be that of facilitator. I will guide you to sources of relevant literature and information. Students will be expected to do alot of reading on their own which will be followed by presentations and discussions . A number of assignments and practice exercises will be given from time to time. One key aspect of knowledge management is knowledge sharing. It is expected that information and knowledge sharing will be the norm in this course.
